Yes! With our trademarked Drainfield Restoration™ process, we restore failing septic systems without replacing the drainfield. It’s faster, more affordable, and non-invasive compared to a full replacement.

Terralift is a patented, custom-built machine designed specifically for restoring failing septic drainfields. It works by using a specialized steel probe, driven 3 to 6 feet underground into the leach field by a pneumatic hammer. Once the probe is in place, Terralift unleashes compressed air at high pressure, which fractures the compacted soil and breaks up the slimy biomat layer that chokes the drainfield. To ensure the channels remain open permanently, a second system injects tiny, durable, and compression-resistant polystyrene beads into these new cracks and fissures. This process rejuvenates the drainfield to work like new.
Terralift primarily addresses issues caused by compacted soils and the buildup of a slimy layer called the biomat in the leach field. These conditions prevent septic water from flowing and filtering properly through the soil, leading to system failure and often surfacing water.
The benefits of Terralift restoration are significant:
• No digging required: It restores drainfields without tearing up the yard.
• Cost savings: It saves property owners, businesses, and municipalities millions of dollars by avoiding full system replacements, which can cost tens of thousands.
• Long-lasting results: The injected polystyrene beads hold the new passages open permanently, preventing the soil from collapsing back in. A system restored in 1996, for example, only experienced its first problems 15 years later in 2012.
• Sustainability: It represents a shift in thinking towards giving life back to existing systems rather than replacing them.
Drainfield Restoration Services began operating in 1995, meaning they have been restoring systems for nearly three decades. Their first job was a mobile home park, which was successfully restored, confirming the effectiveness of the Terralift technology.
In addition to Terralift restoration, the company offers proprietary products for septic system maintenance:
• Biospan: This is a proprietary bacteria enzyme formula designed to help alleviate sludge buildup.
• O2 Zyme: An oxygenator that helps relieve compaction and raises dissolved oxygen levels by 500%. It can be applied directly to the drainfield or into the tank to help maintain the system and open up fields.
Drainfield Restoration Services originated in Bend Oregon and serves most of Central Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Bend Oregon, Redmond Oregon, Sisters Oregon, Madras Oregon, LaPine Oregon, Prineville Oregon, Sunriver, Eugene Oregon, Springfield Oregon, Lincoln City Oregon, Portland Oregon and parts of Washington, Idaho and Northern California.
The primary alternative to Terralift restoration is a full system replacement, which involves digging up the yard, replacing the drainfield, and can cost tens of thousands of dollars. In some cases, like one property that couldn't hook up to a sewer line, an alternative system could be about a $20,000 sand filter system, if there is even room for it.
Yes, Terralift can effectively restore severe drainfield problems. For example, in one mobile home park, water was surfacing throughout the entire system, which was stopped after restoration. In another instance, a system had about a foot of water standing over the top of the tank, which was brought down to operating height through their process. The company considers some of these cases "worst-case scenarios" that are still successfully managed.
We serve Central Oregon (Bend, Redmond, Sisters, Prineville, La Pine, Sunriver, Tumalo, Madras), Eugene, Springfield, Portland, Florence, Lincoln City, the Oregon Coast, and parts of Washington, Idaho, and Northern California.
